Because I have a work event in Farmington to attend today, I rode into work with Marty. As we were getting onto I-696 at Gratiot, I noticed a state police car sitting along side of the enterance ramp, watching 696 for speeders..
Or, so I thought.
No more then 10 seconds later, as we got onto 696, a bright yellow Dodge Charger SuperBee went FLYING past in the left lane, doing I would estimate between 85-90MPH (I based this estimate on the fact that Marty was doing 65-70MPH at the point, and he just blew by us.
So, I expected to see that cop come flying by on the right, going after that speeder. But, he never appeared. The yellow Charger got off at the next exit about a mile or so up the road.
I guess I was wrong. The state cop wasn’t watching for speeders. He was finding a nice place to enjoy his coffee and dounut while reading the moring Free Press. I would imagine a nice nap was to follow.
