Somehow, the magic pixie dust between my iPhone mail app and Gmail has become contaminated, and now my iPhone is showing me as having -1 unread messages (and if I have 1 unread message, then it’ll show 0 unread messages)

The good thing about RSS readers like Google Reader is that you can ‘follow’ dozens and dozens of sites, without actually visiting each and every site.
The bad thing is unless you REALLY stay on top of all of your feeds, you can find yourself with ~5000 unread posts.
